Karah Pedersen: Change Agent

Karah Pedersen has put together an impressive record as a health project director and senior strategist with an excellent track record when it comes to helping global companies achieve greater growth and to help them create the greatest possible impact. Karah's results-oriented management style and her exceptional skills as a leader skills come from nearly two decades of work in the global health and development field.

For example,Karah Pedersen worked with Ipas, as that organization’s Senior Manager for their Youth Program. Ipas is a global health organization that provides reproductive health and human rights programs to adolescent girls and young women in 16 developing countries. In addition, Karah’s also worked for a time with spent time with FHI 360, a health and development organization with more than 5,000 people working in more than 60 countries. There, she was their Knowledge Services manager, where she developed a number of digital collaboration tools. Karah Pedersen also worked on the Interagency Youth Working Group’s activities to disseminate and advocate for youth SRH evidence-based practices.

Karah Pedersen has also helped to coordinate research at the University of North Carolina on HPV vaccine acceptability and she completed a practicum in India to assess abortion care services and related community education activities in rural Rajasthan. A self-described "former city girl," Karah earned a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and she currently lives in Hillsborough, North Carolina, where she and her husband spend a lot of time gardening and working to develop a small-scale fruit farm. Though she likes the “simple life for herself, she realizes the need to help others and make the world a better place.
